Bidding is now at just over $300. Can someone please tell me WHAT ON THIS THING IS WORTH THAT?

I guess the checkered binding and the two full-width crushed pearl inlays?

In the last year I have seen toasters from this era go for over $100, split tailpieces and bridges for over $200, not to mention the treble p/up, and pots. The there is the body in a very rare colour...
The C/B Azureglo basses with full width inlays are very scarce it seems and if complete, this would be at least a $3K bass. That's the real pity here...
It could be a late 72 as the reissue knobs could be in the holes where the thumbrest would be.
It's hard to tell if they are the MOP inlays or the early 73 "swirly" type.
I missed out on a Feb 73 AZG last year that went very cheap to a buyer in Austin, Texas...

It's all in the eye of the beholder....
One could easily go beyond the current bid
on all the parts that are there.....

The last split tail went for over $400.....

The chef speaks true...

FYI, it is a Dec 72 with an LL serial number, so they are MOP inlays.

It looks like Dave might be after it...
I could use it too, but I feel bad about beating him
on some Wiggly Grovers....

No worries Future Chef Image

I think this would be a fun project.

The checkered binding, pods, tail, and pick ups all could be salvaged.

Perhaps even the original paint on the body wings could remain???

There does not seem to be a bridge in that tailpiece though.

(nevermind. I just spotted it down at the bottom of the picture. )

Thats ashame. An azureglo 72 is a rare animal and would look good in my collection.

It's a goddam shame.

Still worth salvaging? Dale? Ted?

Hell yeah. I would take a crack at that. (No pun intended) I would start by copying the neck shape of Paul Boyer's '72.

I can see a bidding frenzy afoot.
