Advice needed on this one

Post by anoukane »

Hi guys,
I'd like to buy a Jetglo and someone in Holland offered me this Jetglo 4001 from '76. What do you think about it? Is the bridge pickup original?
Thanks in advance!
Phil

'76 was a good year for 4001's. Mine has a real nice neck profile.

Looks pretty much original...but I'd have never caught the screws being replacements! Image

It'll sound good, too!

Those hi-gains sound great.

Have a look under the truss rod cover! Check if the adjustment nuts for the rods are OK.
Seems like it is "decapped" (bass cut capacitor removed) already!

May I be so ignorant as to ask the brand of those tuners? They're different from my '83, but similar to my '70s Ibanez.

I don't know the brand of the tuners. Aren't they original?

They look the same as my '76 & '77 both. Klusons aren't they?

They appear to be the standard nickel plated tuners found on nearly all 70's Ricks. That slightly tarnished patina gives them a nice vintage look.
