Thanks - I think mine has 3 grovers (wavy kind) and a replacement. They work, but don't looks so great with that odd one on there. Maybe some day I'll switch them all out for this (Kluson?) type.

The treble PU cover is unoriginal.
No biggie; 70's ones turn up.
Nice bass.

How can you see that?
Is it the same one as the pickup cover Ricpage sells?

The old handrests are thinner and a bit shorter.

Sorry, but the handrest on that 4001 is original to it. The shorter version was discontinued 1975.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
