Oh, and if you are thinking of bidding, would you like to buy the old rusty bicycle that is in my shed? Possibly ridden by Paul McCartney whilst giving Chris Squire a croggy (that is a lift, sitting on the cross bar)! Only £3,000.

There's a "one-in-a-million" chance that this is true..."so you're saying, there IS a chance"

Peter, croggy? You live in England right?

Ain't that where English comes from?

I'm afraid but, what's the basis of the "croggy"?

On second thought, that would explain Squires rather particular gait.

Reminds me of a girl I used to know......
I'm just happy to be here.

Over here a 'croggy' is called a 'dink'. Croggy sounds more like a Sesame Street character!

This will tell all in the quest for knowledge of dialects especially from the part of England Peter is from.

Enjoy.

BTW. Don't buy his bike it's a fake. I have the real one in my shed. Paul and John rode it. Chris Squire never touched it to my knowledge. Ringo and George really admired it but...

Croggy - cross bar ride, as in "Give us a croggy" means "Please will you give me a lift on your bicycle", that's all I know!

Oh. I forgot to mention, I can't prove it but I bought the bike from Elvis and Buddy Holly once mended a puncture on it.

Amazing isn't it Peter. Years ago we had to take a trip in a lorry to get exposed to different dialects. Now with the world wide web it's all too transparent. Sort of takes the fun of discovery out of it, I think.

So "someone very ‘high up’" at Marshall has stated:
"...due the serial number and age of the amp - he believed it had been used as a test-bed for Hendrix, and latterly owned by Pete Townsend..."

and someone else at Marshall has stated:
"...there is no evidence, documentary or photographic, that this is the case..."

and the seller states:
"...Marshall do not have records dating back that far."

What is the point of fabricating a story only to then admit it couldn't possibly be true?

What is the point, you ask?

Three simple letters: CYA.
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
