4001 BG for project.

I emailed the seller stating the heavy mods that where done to the bass. He said he was offered $650, and is letting it go to the first $750 if anyone is interested. I would hate to see what's under that p/g.
Just curious as to why the neck doesn't have the red dots?
Buy it before someone else does.

Hey Bob,

Sickening what happened to that bass. The EMPEROR is STILL in the running. I can only imagine what he will do to it and re-sell it as having "EXCELLENT MOJO"!

Bob, that's not a BG, but Fireglo. BG has no burst to it, just overall burgundy (of various degrees).

Your right Paul. I guess I couldn't get pass the horror after seeing what happened to it.

Tony, the Emperor may be the one with the $650 offer. I pity the poor fool it buys it later.

'Rickenbacker growl'? From a P-Bass-style pickup? Gee, I must be missing something. Er... What is it about P-Bass pickups anyway? $750 for a thusly modified (=butchered) Rickenbacker bass? That seller jests, surely. I wouldn't want to see what's under the pickguard either. Next, please.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

No red side dots? Well, maybe the explanation is in the month of manufacture of that 4001 - January 1974.

He's got 5 offers so far. I wonder how much $ people have been offering.
