2006 360/6 arrived today. Incredible Fireglo

Post by gjg59 »

I had to say this in the guitar forum although I started in the general. This guitar was so smooth out of the case, I almost dropped it. The Fireglo on my new 2006 360/6 is incredible. Next to the 91 FG , it is in the dark family but with a red hue, not pinky like my 2005 360/6. Incredible, perfect. The guitar is perfect. Looks, setup, play sound and price. I bought it friday from MF. They gave be last years sale price when I told them I did not like the pinky color of my first 360/6 and sold it. I thought that was pretty nice of them. If the lot of 06's are this color, I recommend grabbing one. The guy who bought my 360/12 is just as pleased with his purchase so all is well. Man, Rickenbacker quality out of the box is simply incredible. Now to decide which Ric gets a set of toasters. The 91 330 already sounds a little throatier than the 2006 360. What do you guys think ?

Yeah...so what's new, Gerry?

Congratulations from me too!
If it makes your buyer or Howard feel any better, I just posted over on the "color choice" thread, that my "pinky" 360/12 FG is getting darker over time and losing some of its pinkiness.
I'm just in a quandary on whether to keep it or not. What do I need with two 360/12s? (Other is an autographed MG .)

Gerry, I know that photography is inconsistant, but I'd love to see the new FG. Any chance of a pic next to the '91? The '90's are my very favourite FG's...difficult to beat.

Sure, I'll take some outside this weekend for a true comparison. I also still have the pics of my 05 Pinky 360.

I can email pics if you send me your email. I don't know how to post here. Pete posted pics for me before

Gerry, I tried to email you, but no joy (delivery failure notice). My email address is in my profile...perhaps you could drop me a line. I'll gladly post the pics for you.

As i have posted somewhere in here previously, regarding the "pinkiness" of my Jan 05 360/6: i'm not bothered wether it's too red, too pink, too dark or too light.
Everytime i open the case i just fall in love with it all over again!!!

Greg, Tony Carey would not agree !! But that's what's so great about all of these wonderful people here, and Rickenbackers !! There is something for everyone, and Tony would not begrudge your own appreciation of a pinky FireGlo.

Ooh...you've got me well & truly sussed Steve..Image. Truth is, I love all Rics, regardless of colour...but personaly, I only want to own nice deep, luscious fireglo's!

I'm really interested in these new fireglo's, as FG is a subject that is very close to my heart!

Tony, I don't mean to be morbid, but I think, as you get older, you should consider working with John Hall and Paul W, to design your coffin. I don't need to say what the finish would be.

HaHaHa....good one Steve. I wonder if Paul would take on the job. Hopefully, I'm a long way off, but what a great idea!

Of course, it should be an "early 90s" FireGlo.
