It is true in England, GB, British Isles, UK or whatever we are called today!
Here you aren't allowed to employ the best "man" for the job any more, you have to have your quota of...
IE, if you need a tightrope walker for your circus, is is illegal to favour an applicant with two legs over an applicant with one leg!

I can't speak for the others, but i'm very glad to see you here, Roy!
Okay we all have (me included) to remember we have to be politically correct, so if you ever want to tell me anything, Roy, you're welcome (you do know my email address, i suggest...) I'm no feministic at all, and Russia is not the country where political correctness is the law (so, Dane, any compliment from you is welcome... offline
well, you know...). I'm no "anti-" or "-ist", you get my drift - i hope so, Peter McC...
Best regards,
SC.

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
I, too, welcome your comment anywhere on the forum, Roy! I don't get over to your neck of the woods much, since I usually don't know diddley about the subject matter (though I do know who Diddley is).
As far as PC speak goes, the term "persons of color" I actually like, since it implies respect for said person's culture (at least that's how I take it).
Back to the original subject (sort of), I don't see how flying the national flag of the country you're in can be construed as an insult to anyone!
That's just going way too far.

There is a big difference between the sociological term "persons of colo(u)r" and the archaic euphemism "colo(u)red person", especially as people of colo(u)r interpret both these phrases.
Any country which accepts immigrants from other lands and cultures, since its citizens pay taxes which are used to everyone's benefit, should have the right to fly its own flag.
Where is the insult to being accepted into another land, and seeing its flag flying? How else could it be?
Paul M., paint jobs (as you put it) are the current nexus and basis for my own world view...

It's true as it "may" be offensive to non-Christians. So we, a Christian country, are not allowed be what we are because it may...
It's funny but when we (British) are in a foreign country we are told "When in Rome do as the Romans do". Seems to me that we lose out both ways!
