Is this book really worth $273? The same seller had one last week that sold for $124.00.

that's just madness. The bidder mustn't have been aware that this seller is selling this book on a regular basis now. I'm happy to wait until sanity prevails on the price.

I was high bidder for days, I had bid $111 (just to show interest), when I went to put a late bid on it was nearly the price of a house so I didn't bother. Gulp!!!

Is the book worth it? I had a chance to purchase one in 1999 for $50.00. I figured I would wait. I kick myself for that decision. So, every time I go to Pick Of The Ricks. I ask Chris if I can look at his copy. Is it worth it. Yes. It's a amazing book. I would love to have one.

In 1994, I bought a reference book on Colt .45 automatic pistols for $55 dollars, which was the issue price. Now out of print, I was told there was only one printing of the book and many people consider it to be the bible for collectors of military .45s.

I sold it in 2002 for $404.00 on ebay, and I have seen them go as high as $700 for mint sealed copies.

Reference books are in many ways just as valuable as the subjects they feature....

If you are a serious completist in terms of Rickenbacker information the Rittor book is critical. I only hope we have an English-text version someday.

Bob, someone actually looked into it sometime ago....quite an undertaking and the ends would not justify the means, according to the person who looked in to it.

It wouldn't have to be a completely-redone book with English text and captions. It could be a translation with keys to pages. This is very cheap. I have several friends who speak Japanese and English, but no Rittor book (yet). I'm waiting for prices to go down...

Yes, that approach would seem to be inexpensive and more feasable for sure. I think a big hurdle for doing another full-blown book would be getting permission for all of the photos again, at least that was discussed....
