String spacing on 4004 Laredos/Cheyennes
Is the string spacing the same on the Laredo as the 4003s down in the pickup area? I'm looking at one of these as an option, and am questioning whether it would be possible to stick a horseshoe on it (not that I would, but I want to know if it's an option).

I doubt I would do anything to it if I got it (considering I hate it when other people butcher their instruments), but it's good to know one's options.
I'm also curious in the difference in sound between the original pickup layout and the current one. I assume the maple fretboard would make the instrument a bit brighter.
PS. I guess this is the Jeff thread!

What about the Lemmy Signature? I saw an episode on, believe or not, the Drew Carey show, and Lemmy himself was playing what seems to be a signature prototype. And it definatley had a horseshoe pickup. I've never seen one in real life but the Lemmy signature seems to be based on the 4004 design. I know what I saw because it brought me to my feet in like .000000001 of a second.
