You know, I hate to say it....but I like it....alot! Its going to be pulled, but I still like it!

A 4001/4004CI hybrid with active pickups....interesting concept.

I like it too! But, they could have done something better with the truss rod cover.

I am going to bid for it. It has much of what a modern Rickenbacker fretless should have that I like. The long scale, 24 fret, ebony neck is a must for me. The active p/ups are another subject matter as are the assorted hardware issues, but all in all a very cool bass imo...

I'd print the auction page out then if I were you, while you still can.

Not exactly the same dimensions as a Rick, but a nice job. Not over the top with the wood grain.

That's one tempting bass.

Pulled. I made sure to copy the pix first. Nice bass.

.. well, yes, except for the pickups. Not a PJ fan, myself.

"Except for the pickups."

Charly, I have to disagree. EMG pickups sound great on my '75 4001. Really you gotta hear it. You'll be hooked. Not that there is anything wrong with Ric Pickups, they sound great too.

BTW the auction is GONZO!
