Well whoever it was had or has a great voice and band, sounds like a soul jazzer like Lou Rawls or someone like that, sounds live also to me. Almost sounded like a low pitched Otis Reading. Great falsetto.

I thought the same, Bob - someone like Otis Redding.

Oh, I certainly hope so.
"West Coast" was just a hint.
I didn't mean that they/he/she were just a regional artist.
Definitely famous, as these things go.
I wanted to reveal last night but Sheena asked for more time.
Will end suspense and reveal later today after one more clue.

Well, there were two brothers in the CCR lineup, but it wasn't them...
Allman Brothers? Guess not...

Not the Allmans; they were from Georgia (the American Georgia, that is).

PAUL GOT IT!
Chambers Brothers!!
Last clue was going to be: bi-racial.
(Their one "hit" was "Time (Has Come Today)"
Great, great song.

Here is the CD with "Sympathy For The Devil"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000051NT0/102-2422994-1269719?v=glance&n=5174

I have no idea why the CD is called "Live 65."
SftD was written until around '68.

YES! What do I win?

I thought I heard something in the voice that was reminiscent of the lead vocal on "Time . . . "

Hey, not just another pretty face here!
