most 4003 basses are fine with a moderate amount of tightening ... even with 5 strings ...

I believe if anyone pops a new 4003 neck, they should run not walk to someone who has even a modicum of mechanical aptitude, any one who does that should not even change strings by himself, they are almost foolproof. And yes I agree with Jeff for the most part, but then there are the ones that haven't been touched for a few years after leaving the factory and have pronounced bows, those will take time and need increments of change maybe and probably also need some elbow grease. I still always bend the neck backwards before I tighten the TR's.
They almost always need tweaking after a few months after being bought new.

Thanks for the info guys, I was worried that the one nut was/is very tight and the other isn't.
I may take the strings off this afternoon and loosten both nuts, check the bow and retighten both of them just to make sure that i don't warp the neck..

Take the nuts off and put a small drop of non-silicone oil on the threads before you put them back on.
