Richard: Please take the time to give us a review of the Dallas show.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I went Sunday afternoon with the sole intent of bringing home a 660-12 but alas, no such luck. There were very few Rick's at Dave's and with the exception of the Pick of the Ricks booth, there were just a few assorted others scattered around the show (maybe another ten guitars). I was really surprised at Pick of the Ricks pricing compared to what a brand new guitar can be purchased for, about $150.00 difference on a 660-12.
Jeffery....I didn't see a 4004 bass, sorry.
I guess I'll have to buy one over the internet. Bummer.

Jim-- Thanks for keeping me in mind while you were at the guitar show. Not surprising that you didn't see a 4004-CI; I thought that might be the case.
The prices that Chris Clayton (PickoftheRicks) charges for his instruments aren't bargain basement level. However, they're fair and reasonable and you get an instrument exactly in the condition he describes it. I was fortunate to get a vintage re-issue 1997SPC from Chris a little over a year ago and was extremely happy with the purchase. You'll pay more for an instrument from Chris, but it's a lot safer than eBay because Chris is 100% trustworthy and a super nice guy.
If you prefer to buy a brand new 660/12, I strongly recommend you contact Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center. They're a Ric dealer and their prices are the most competitive I've seen. The website address is: http://www.wmcworld.com/ Or you can call (301)946-8808 and ask for Brian Meader.
Hope this helps.
