Ashdown Acquisition Syndrome!
I got the MK500 today. Awesome sounding amp and excellent build quality. I have not been able to crank it here in my apartment, but Saturday I will at rehearsal. The "Harmonic Emphasis" control does a really nice job of opening up the high end and gives my Chromes shod V63 a nice bite that sounds much better than just cranking the treble.
Here is a stock shot of the amp, I will eventually get around to photographing it.

Walter Woods amps are still hand made in So Cal, as they have always been, since 1977. There is usually a long waiting time, kind of like RIC, as they are individually made by Walter. The serial number is the date of manufacture, or at least completion date as he finishes only one or two a day at most. They are kind of pricey but they are extremely reliable and Walter provides excellent customer service.
The amps have a very clean hi-fi tone to them but with a nice warmth that many tube amps lack these days.

My bass, she has arrived, and I have NEVER seen a prettier bass.
My God... the folks at Ric got this right...
She sounds nice too, though not as nice as I'd hoped - so I'm thinking strings.
Might try the TI flats on this, since my 4003 already has rounds on it.
Is this a good idea? Thanks.

I'm a total Ashdown convert. I have been using them for a couple of years now. I have a modest set up of an EVOII 500 head and two 2x10 cabs. Works very well.
I am trying to get them to sponser a special gig that I'm playing this June in the UK. I would really like two 8x10 cabs and two 900 watt heads. The guitarist is using THREE Marshall stacks for the event. I live in hope and will keep you posted.
