We were talking about domain names on a political blog. The guy wanted to use Stolen Thunder but it was already taken. Check out the bass!

They're currently the latest fashion "fad" with bands, here... If you have a Ric you're INDIE-COOL! Who cares how it sounds, it says Ric on it - you must be cool. I liked it at first, now it's gotten stupid.

Come over to the UK and see for yourself, there's literally hundreds of Deluxe JG 4003s around in the hands of young bass players here.

They're all identical, too - makes me smile, they all have the cover off, they all have the "Made in USA" sticker on, play far too hard and all grip the neck like they're about to play cricket.

I've been playing 4003 basses for 20 years. 'Bout time I was ahead of some trend.

Interesting, Mark. I'll be touring in the UK in May. I'll be travelling with either my V63 or my C64 - both mapleglow. Sounds like I won't be turning any heads eh?

Oh, on the contrary, you will!

Anything makes a change from JG 4003s everywhere! Thanks for your mail, Tim - I'll see if some of the UK lot can come to one of your gigs.

That would be great fun Mark. I'll post my dates and venues here when I know them.

Too true. I see a Ric and I go HOLY ****!!! Then it turns out it's buried in the mix anyway . . . at least some popular bands (Franz Ferdinand) put the sound to good use. I get bombarded with so much indie-rock here at college . . . and seriously, the way people went on about it, you'd think it was all amazing . . . nope, not at all. There's just as much junk in the indie scene as there is in mainstream pop-rock.

Except, with indie-rockers, you get moralized too about the evils of mainstream music. Argh.
