Mark your comments are always welcome as are those of everyone else who kindly contribute.

I note your comments in relation to English Acts you had never heard of, which seems to be a response to Peter Levett's comment saying he had never heard of Chambers Brothers.

When I was kindly asked to give my name to this forum by Peter McCormack, the mere fact in the blurb about me would indicate this was to be a forum predominately with a English base.

It was not a forum to discuss technical merits on Rickenbacker guitars etc, thre are a lot of those on the site naturally as predominately this is a site about Rickenbackers.

This forum was to essentially discuss British beat in the sixties hence anything I post will be related to that.

I have no issues in widening it though as you state there were many acts in US and vice versa neither of us will have heard of.

Only time I had heard of Chambers Brothers by the way was a track of theirs on a UK sixties compilation called Turn Me Loose.

Interestingly there are some sites about which list differing versions of songs, some better than others, none have that version Mark so I'll correct that today.

Roy, thank you for your inviting comments.
Just a question though.
You write that this forum was to be "predominately with a(n) English base."

But the description doesn't say that. If that's the intent, that's fine of course. I'm just pointing out that it doesn't say that. Just says music from the "late 50s and 60s:"

"Welcome to Clough's Classics. Roy Clough, has agreed to act as a consultant to The Rickenbacker Forum with regard to Clough's Classics. The focus of Clough's Classics is on the music of the late 1950s and 1960s and not on amplifiers or instruments. For these latter areas of discussion the interested participant is encouraged to use the Rickenbacker or Others' Topics."

No I am not fussed either way Mark, but as you have not posted rest of blurb, quite rightly, it does basically state where my interests really lie.

But I agree would be wrong to limit it to just British music.

And thanks for the correction of grammar

Historicaly speaking, Roy is correct in his willingness to discuss 1950s and 1960s music with a particular focus on British 1960s classics. This is my error in the introduction, which I will rectify momentarily. As Roy has indicated, however, this does not exclude discussion on musical matters other than British. That also includes the Irish!
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

...and, as recent threads have shown, sometimes even Russian...Image
IIRC, the matter of focus was already discussed in earlier threads; on the other hand, while the main focus is BI of course, that sometimes naturally jumps to roots and influences, i.e. music of the 50s and sometimes the bands influenced by BI - however, i often try to keep my hands off the keyboard in order not to post a comment about one of my favorites that do not belong to BI in any way... and sometimes don't succeed...Image
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
