Yeah... talk is talk and reality is reality...
In fact, i used "my trick" only twice. First time (about 6 years ago), it did work because we had enough spare money; second time, it almost did but then i just realized there were things much more important and i could live without that lovely guitar... oh well, i did get the one which was very similar to the one i dreamt about anyway - in some 3 or 4 years, when i managed to earn&save enough money...
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
Bob, a girl, who apparently likes me, ordered me a Geddy Lee jazz bass for my birthday. We cancelled the order, though, since they couldn't get it until May. Am I a moron or something ? In the back of my mind, I was thinking I should get a regular jazz. I don't even know what I'm getting instead !!

Geez, Steve, this girl APPARENTLY likes you, and she ordered you a Geddy Lee jazz bass for your birthday and you CANCELLED??? Man, you should have waited for the bass and in the interim asked her to marry you....
Both the girl and the bass sound like "keepers" to me!

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
Yes, she is quite cool, but I am NOT the marrying kind, and she knows that !! Honestly, a single mom and mother of two, I am struggling with the idea of her spoiling me with more gear, when I already have a closet-full of guitars !! Maybe if it was the big 4-0, I'd be more willing. Talk about walls, eh, I don't even accept gifts ... Jeez. Lord help me ....
