Hey Marc:
I didn't realize you were an Islander!
That's my old stomping grounds!
Do you think he made a deal already, or do you think it will be re-listed?
Not on my wish list, but......

Ah-Ha!
Oh man, your the guy's who always get the snow!
Your "north & west of the city" as the weather man always says!
90% of my friends are still there. As a matter of fact, one of them is a huge Progressive Rock fan. He has a MINT 1976MG 4003 I've been trying to get him to sell me.
Check out his band....http://www.afterlifeband.net/home.php
They recently formed and are starting to gig. Here are some clips, he's not playing the RIC anymore, but check out the sound, he sure gets his Spector to sound like one...http://www.afterlifeband.net/sound_clips.php

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack the thread, but I wish I was up there to see their first show.
That '76 Ric is just sleeping under a bed and hasn't been used for many years, but alas, he doesn't want to part with it yet. It has such a beautiful grain too!
Back to the 4005, I wonder if the seller is going to list it again, or if someone already nabbed it.

The Strawberry Fields tribute band is awesome. I've seen them on LI a few times. They were original cast for Beatlemania, and performed at Shea Stadium last year. Other good tribute bands I saw were Stealin' Dan, Big Shot (Billy Joel), Beginnings (Chicago), and Wonderous Stories.
If it ain't broke, break it, then fix it.

I heard some of those clips . . . wow! He really needs to bring back the Ric, though. The Spector sounded good for Starship Trooper, and that's about it. It didn't do "Red Barchetta" at all, even though he could play it . . . EMG pickups are just too . . . clean, and they get lost under everything. Whatever he was doing on "Heart of the Sunrise" with the sound was nice as well, but I think a Spector is about as far as you're gonna get from a Ric, soundwise, and this is no exception. Their vocalist does a great Jon Anderson impression.
Robert:
Funny, the part you wrote about "and they get lost under everything" is EXACTLY what I had mentioned in my last email to Rob.
They just completed "And You & I" and he asked my input...I've always been honest with Rob and a closer friend you will not find. My quote to him was "You guys are so good, don’t bury that bass! It’s “technically perfect” it just needs more of that “feel” from your bass, but it seems you are getting lost in the mix."
I just thought being a bit RIC partial, it was just me!
THANKS!
