Black pickguard on a Jetglo

Post by anoukane »

Which is a good replacement pickguard for a 4003 Jetglo? I'm looking for a black one, but I see different black ones on:

What are the differences? Have you got any pics of a Jetglo with a black pickguard?
Thanks guys!

Jetglo looks great with a black pickguard and TRC.

WD stands for Wrong Dimensions. They are also the wrong material (vinyl), wrong edge (beveled) and wrong thickness (too thin). They also look cheap.

If you want a proper black pickguard for your Ric, order one from Tony Dudzik (Pickguardian) or Don Adamek. They have the correct material. You can send them a tracing for best fit.

If you want to see pics, Tom Gallo has one for sale and he has posted pics here.

Tony Dudzik a.k.a The Pickguardian does outstanding work. I have a few of his guards. I hear that Don Ademek does great work too but I have never installed one of his (that I know of).

If WD is using vinyl that is reason enough to stay away. Vinyl contains chlorine which will eat your finish.

I think they are vinyl. They look and feel like those single-ply vintage-style Fender pickguards, the kind that warps. These are vinyl, aren't they? They sure aren't 1/8" Plexiglas.

So it's better if I just order one at the website of Pickguardian.
Nice pictures btw.
Although I think, mine will more look like one on Jeffs site.

These are vinyl, aren't they?

Synthetic, cheap vinyl trash, that don't even FIT properly.

I bought one from the US over the internet, I still have it I think, it's somewhere in a cupboard - still in the envelope it came in!

I.e... I took one look at it, sighed, and forgot about it ever since.

Question:
Can I also order that black pickguard on Ricpage? Or should I better go for the pickguardian?
When I order on Ricpage I can also order some vintage knobs, so that saves me shipping costs..

Let me know how you make out with the black pickguard too. That black-on-black does look very nice.
