Model B 10?

I am very new here and just thought Id ask for some advice, Im a novice and came across a friend with what he believes is a pre- war Model B 10 string. It has been sitting around for atleast a decade so Im not sure if it "works" but other than a missing tuning knob and tone control knob (just the plastic is missing)it seems to be in pristine condition. Its black Baklite with chrome face plates by the way. I was going to offer him 500.00 for it, is that to much?

Dave, A Ric as you describe is pretty rare and is definitely worth 500, but you are going to hear from people more expert than I. Don't wait around. Grab it. Aloha, David.

Seriously, if you can get it that cheap, go for it.
It's worth at least twice that on the open market.
