Sheena, that's great--wonderful setting of the mood, and downright poetic--until you get down to "jammin' in the can!"
BTW, I don't feel any worse today, so that's a good thing--and I got both boys off to school, and I have good reason to believe my hubby's on the mend....
I REFUSE TO GET THE FLU!!!!
"Once I've held and played the best, baby, I won't settle for less!"
Oh... you're way too kind, Melissa... it's very nice to hear kind words (flattering, you know). Thank you!
Glad to hear your kids are better.
Also wish you not to get that flu - take good care of yourself!
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but I have noticed that your english language writing skills have improved immensely over the past few months. Keep up the good work. Those lyrics are great.

Okay...I haven't forgotten the challenge....and today, in a haze of fever and sinus congestion, cold medicine, and the lingering after-effects of my hubbys' homemade (ummmm) flu remedy and a few hours of listening to some blues recordings, I now bring to you my inspired lyrics (my apologies to the Curmudge in advance, LOL!):
OH MISTER CURMUDGEON,
When are you gonna make my dream come true?
OH MISTER CURMUDGEON,
When are you gonna make my dream come true?
Until then I'll just be jammin' in the can,
Jammin' in the can and singin' the 481 Ric Refin Blues!
Oh I don't wanna work
And I can't even sleep
I wanna play my geetar
So you know I'm gonna keep
...On askin' you
When are you gonna make my dream come true?
And so I'm jammin' in the can
Jammin' in the can and sigin' the 481 Ric Refin Blues!
Or maybe it's just 'cuz I've got the flu....
But I wanna know
When am I gonna stop singin' this song
In shades of 481 Ric Refin Blues!
(I've got a nice blues shuffle for this in my mind, but won't be in any condition to even try singing it for several days, LOL!)
"Once I've held and played the best, baby, I won't settle for less!"
And a good thread theme it is! Soon you will be the owner of not one, but two works of Jingle Jangle art. I am turquoise with envy. I can't wait to see how Paul will stun everyone with your 481.
"The Others" sounds 'bout right Aitch. I haven't got anything postable yet, but will work on it while I am away to the Tdot this week. I'll be off tomorrow bright and early and not be back until Sunday. The mission will provide welcome relief in the evenings (accompanied by the usual frosty beverages).

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.
You are all welcome here until Melissa's ship comes in.
Melissa, the paint is hardening. I buffed out the neck and fretboard today. Looks nice! Only the body to do, and then small parts and on to assembly, etc.
The color is exactly as you wanted.
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
― Kurt Vonnegut
Please forgive me in advance...
The refrain that keeps on turning in my head... eew... shouldn't listen to the radio, that's true! Nothing bad intended, it just keeps haunting me...
"Jammin' in the can, i will undress you,
Jammin' in the can, i will caress you..."
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
Jammin' in the can, I will uncase you
Jammin' in the can I can't replace you,
You know it's true,
I can't wait, Just can't wait to get my hands on you
'Cuz I wanna make you sing,
Oh you pretty thing
So that I won't have to play the blues....
(HAHAHAHAHA.... I think it just went from bad to worse.... now where's my cold medicine?)
