Steve, that is a beautiful Ric. Did you have it custom made, so that's why it took so long? Definately worth the wait.
Interesting tip on not opening the case 'til it gets to room temp. I am waiting patiently for mine in the mail from Charly (in transit now....maybe somewhere in Pennsylvania...when will Ric add that 4003 GPS feature I've always wanted??). I'll have to keep that in mind.
Enjoy!

WOW! Nicest one I've seen. Plenty of maple showing in the middle. Some of them just look like a light trans blue. And the headstock wings look awesome.
I agree with whoever said lose the sticker!

Kevin, that was one of the first things I noticed, is that the neck is not a "baseball bat", in fact, it felt very thin. Keep in mind I have been playing a Thunderbird for a year or so, so my guage might be a little different, but it's a lot easier to play than the 'Bird!
Greg, the BBR was the color of the year for 2005. Amber Fireglo is this year's color. I don't know why I had to wait so long for it, but I am glad I did right about now! It plays great! And yes, always let your Rics have time to warm up before opening them! Especially in freezing cold places like Michigan!
The vintage tone selector is actually useful! I figured it would be a gadget kind of thing, but I was playing some old Stones on it a few minutes ago, pulled up the pot, and wow! did the sound change, right to 1971! Very Yes-esque!
It's got just the right sound for me in the normal position, though, way more low end than my '73 or '75 had, for sure...I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one!
