Like I said, I've been called many things, but Brain is used less frequently than the others.

Sheena, Kevin, Jeffrey, and all you Brians, thanks for the greetings, you are making me feel very welcome.

Howard, 9 in 12 months, that's fantastic! I really don't seen any more in my near future, but I do have to admit I keep my eyes on the local ads. Who knows when I may run across another that I can't refuse.

Kevin, yes, I've seen some fantastic photos all over this forum. The recent picture that Melissa posted of her purple and turquoise guitars together was fantastic, the guitars are breathtaking and the photo was beautiful and showed them off well. And then I saw she recently posted a picture of a quilted 381, wow! Melissa, it looks like you have a very nice collection, and I see Paul is working on another one for you -- can't wait to see it!

Expect to see some questions from me soon, I'll probably be over in Paul's topic looking for some suggestions on how best to spruce up the 610 a bit. I think it a little beyond the standard scratch-x and zymol treatment. My wife suggested that the previous owner must have been very fond of peanut butter ...

Jeff, I think they were referring to me because Peter Mc referred to me as BRAIN in one of his posts recently.

Welcome BK....a wonderful place to discuss all things Ric (& other stuff as well).
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

BK, welcome, and take heart in the fact that most, if not all, of us photograph posters have learned through a lot of trial and error how to get at least one good pic out of a dozen taken, e.g.

Oh my... Gary, that's a really special one! Must be a gorgeous sight when played on stage with all the lights off...

Wow Gary, really cool. You know, I'm not too attached to this new 610 yet, let me know if you want to trade!

Ok, here are a few of mine, let's see if I can get these posted correctly.

The '87 610 that I just got last week, you'll probably be seeing more detailed pics of this one as I try to figure out how to clean it up a bit:

Image

The '78 4001MG, it has a nice amber to it, there's a noticeable contrast between the color of the body and headstock wings and the lighter neck:

And body close ups of the 4001, when you get mapleglo it's all about the wood grain. It shows better on the back where it's not covered up with pickups and pickguards and tailpiece:

You know the line!

"Jeff, I think they were referring to me because Peter Mc referred to me as BRAIN in one of his posts recently"

There was a posting a while ago where BC was also called Brain!
