Tim, did you forget to put down the amp when you stepped in the tub for a morning shower?

With the possible exception of the shower bit what I did was dumber than them all.

Here's what happened.

A good friend just bought the amp used off of E-bay. Since he does not currently have a cabinet he brought it up to my place to use it through one of mine. He also wanted to A/B with my amps. My main amp is a ultra high power (blue light) Walter Woods and my backup is a GK 400RB. We had been listening to the different amps through an Epifani 3x10 (which I'm selling BTW) with my playing and him switching the cords. We traded places - he started playing while I was to swap the cord from speaker to speaker. He was playing through the WW and then he asked me to hook up the speaker to the Mark Bass instead. That's when I disengaged my brain. I reached back, pulled the speaker cord out of the CABINET and plugged into the speaker output of the Mark Bass amp. This meant my WW head was sending 1200 watts out through its speaker output directly into the speaker out of the Mark Bass head. There was no noise, no smoke, nothing exciting and my Walter Woods was unharmed. His Mark Bass was totally dead though.

OK. I came clean. Anyone done anything that dumb before?

The good news is Mark Bass thinks they know exactly what was damaged and are sending us the replacement parts free of charge. Awesome! My fingers are crossed.
