Attn: UK forum members
I'm trying to track down a UK-issued single (45) from around 1980 and I'm having no luck here in the US. The single is by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, A side is Even the Losers, B side is two live cuts (I believe Stories We Could Tell and Somethin' Else.) If anyone there is a vinyl hound, a TP and the HB's fan, or a frequent visitor to vinyl/collector shops there and happens to see a copy, I would greatly appreciate any assistance in obtaining one. I have no idea as to the rarity of it there. In relation to this forum, I believe the photo on the cover includes a Rick 620/12. Much thanks and cheers....
This is off the record
Roy: I moved this here as a special request thinking if anyone might be able to local the single, it would be you. I realize that it is outside the focus of Clough Links and I will delete the thread in the near future.

Peter-
If a forum member (me) would like assistance in finding a (probable) UK only piece of vinyl, where should we post it? Or should we not use the forum for this?
Other than the official Rick site, this is the only forum I visit, so I have no idea of other (friendly) forums that reach our UK pals.

Jery: For now, and with Roy's indulgence, why not pose your question on this thread as well.
I will rethink a future spot for such requests. I want to be very sure that the character of Clough Links remains as it is. I very much appreciate your sensitivity to this.

Hi Roy, absolutely sure. Firstly, I checked with the folks on the official Tom Petty website here and they informed me that the song was not a single here but it was released as one in the UK (or perhaps a 3 song EP. Not sure how they classified it, an EP or single. It was a 7-inch though.) Plus they said there's a small picture of its picture sleeve inside the "Playback" (Tom Petty) box set. Seems to me the two live cuts were advertised either on the record and/or sleeve as being recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon show during the Damn the Torpedoes tour in 79 or '80. I remember at that time that show was broadcast on the radio here. Lastly, a friend of mine back in the day, in the Chicago area, had it (how he got it I don't know but our record story did carry imports back then..all LPs though, but this could be the exception.) I just sent a note off to him asking if he still has it.
This is off the record

Nobody beats a Yorkshireman when it comes to finding a good value.
Let Roy search some more Glenn and you can probably get it for free!
Great work Roy.
