Glad to see the forum back up and running Peter. I was starting to get the shakes from withdrawl.
I like the new look and features!

But, what is the difference between a "New Member" and a "Junior Member" thats what I want to know... ;-) hmmm, New Members become Junior Members after post number two? Perhaps? How do you get from Junior status to Senior status - and most importantly, do we seniors get a discount?

Mystery - I just tried to edit a post in the thread two below this and was denied saying it was more than 30 minutes old. But neither was I able to add to the thread? OK, I'm a "member" now, at this rate, I'll be an ancient member by tomorrow and by Thursday I'll be a "Buried Member" - this seems like a new strategy to control board traffic!!

Russmanuel: Are you referring to a search of last day or last week posts or the overall tree structure of posts? These are present under the Discussion heading. A type of tree listing is still available in the Search function under the Utilities heading.

Gary: There is an algorithm for calculating member status that is based on number of posts which is confounded by the fact that information from "old" members has been included when the files were moved to the new board. Beyond common courtesy and respect for others, there is no attempt to control anything. I did not write the software, I am just trying to use it wisely. With regard to the time available to edit a post, in the interest of wisdom I will make the editing time longer. Sorry to hear about your ancient member. I agree that being a buried member would be a grave situation indeed.

Peter,

You said it's still possible to do a "last day's" tree view? I have the page saved like this, so I'd get a tree view from the last day on the old format.

However, with the new format, I get the tree view, but it's only the subcategories. If I click on one, it'll tree the results in that section, but it closes that section if I click on another section. It used to have all the sections treed off for the last day that had new posts.

Is it just a new way, where it will not do that anymore, or just something I need to reset another way?

Just curious, it was a feature I used to find helpful.

Peter,
Using the "search" function and selecting " since I last checked for posts" results in a page listing a number of folders listed with plus signs next to them indicating " new" comments within that topic. It is necessary to open , by clicking, each of these folders to review the discussions with new comments.
Is it possible to have the search function result in a page that lists the folders AND THEIR CONTENTS in a tree form ? In that way one could eliminate the step of having to click each folder individually in order to see which discussion topics had new activity?
Hope my question is not too confusing, I'm not versed in the correct language to describe what I would like to see.

Russ and Jeff: Please check out these functions now and see if the current data display brings back any memories.

Grsnovi: Your comments are well taken. You are far too young to get a Seniors' discount. Expect to be bumped up in the membership standing as the options features take effect. I am not saying that you are long in the tooth, but "new" is not an adjective that comes to mind when looking back at your growing list of posts. Please bear with me and sorry for the confusion. I may figure out how to run this new board soon.
