No... it's a forum, with bass players on it who play Rickenbackers and other great basses. Also take note that the thread is way off forum "topic" anyway...
Stop being such a monolithic Rickenbacker totalitarian.
I can compliment a Fender Precision if I bloomin' want to, mate.
Crikey, what's with everybody just recently?

Henny..Thanks for that video clip..It reminds me of why I picked up the bass in the first place. But hey man..don't be such a "Fender Facist" (Just kiddin' Lad)
I love P basses too and in the hands of Entwistle/Wetton they're pretty hard to beat.
I think Wetton might just be playing really loud over the pup with some chorus. Who sounds like that anymore?

thump thump, brag about Fenders in "Others" not here....
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord
I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord
What moment? The moment I first for my hands on a Rick!

Great clip, thanks Henny! I'm a long time Wetton fan. As a kid in high school I had a bass amp custom built for me with a graphic EQ - a new thing at the time - and my only purpose was to duplicate Wetton's sounds from Crimson's "Red". I foolishly thought all I needed for that was a graphic EQ...
"A Noble Instrument Must Be Nobly Regarded"
I saw Wetton with the band U.K. in 1977 with his white sans pickguard ahem... forgot the brand bass. Sounded great can't remember what kind of amp he used but he had that great overdriven sound. He had a great sound in King Crimson too, the ones with him on them are my favorite King Crimson albums. "Red" is a great LP. Gotta pull that old stuff out pretty soon.
My two main basses in the last 34 years of my playing have either been Rics or those "other" basses and I like both and still do.
I got a chuckle out of "monolithic Rickenbacker totalitarian" too.
