That's true Steve...but it would get to be a little embarrassing having to be lifted out of the chair by a couple of roadies at the end of each set...

"Help! I've fallen and I can't give a f***!"
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

I hear ya, Dane... i was lifted a couple of times... not because the guitar was too heavy or i was too... hmmm... tipsy, but because it all was too funny...

This is my 1979 4001 FG. I added a toaster & new high gain last year. This is the sweetest bass I've ever played. I've owned it since day one!

Hey Pete, one of my favorite Ricks that I've ever had is my '79 fireglo 4001.

Joey,
I've always loved this bass. I got it the same year my wife and I were married. Still have the bass, still married!

I added some new pick-ups to it last year (Christmas present) and use it every week-end.

People never fail to comment on what a great looking & sounding bass it is. It also plays like a dream.

Pete, looks like a sweet one! My '79 also has some flame pattern in the wood, it just doesn't show in this picture:
