Im looking for an online store which has the .0047 cap in stock. I live in the Netherlands, so the online store has to ship to Europe.
Thanks in advance
I believe that ALL PARTS, guitar parts has them AND they have several european distributers...UK, Italy, France, Finland, Norway ect....here's the link...
You can also try Mouser. I got some Xicon polyester green ones from them for this purpose about a year ago and they sound and work great....much better than a ceramic cap. Mouser is usually pretty cheap too costwise.
Yes Philip, that cap is complete overkill for a guitar or bass application, but it was the lowest voltage rating cap I could find that was the right type. A benefit to using a higher voltage cap is that the internal plates inside the cap are farther apart and this usually makes it sound better and have less self-noise too.
Any .0047uf cap will do as long as it's not polarised. The voltage rating is not an issue. A ceramic would probably be the cheapest(20c?). Any electronic parts supplier should have them.
I think that would be 4700 pf, a picofarad is 1/1000,000 of a microfarad which is 1/1000,000 of a farad. You would move the decimal point over to the right 6 places.
