Yellow Sub

Post by webhead »

I was checking out some Beatles DVDs on Amazon. Is Yellow Sub now out of print? It just came out in 1999. What gives? So now the only thing that's in print for Beatles DVDs is that Washington 64 show and Anthology.

Don: A pretty sad state of affairs, especially considering the quality of average DVD that is in print. Luckily, I bought 'Yellow Submarine', 'Anthology', 'A Hard Day's Night', 'Magical Mystery Tour', 'The First US Visit', and 'Ed Sullivan' when they first came out on DVD. I'm still bummed out about missing 'Help!'. Can't wait to get an genuine 'Let It Be' and 'How I Won The War' on DVD.

I first saw 'How I Won The War' in art house movie theater around 1977-1978. I later special-ordered a VHS tape around 1983-1984. Back then tapes were quite expensive (as they were normally only purchased by rental stores). I've still got it. It probably cost $60-70 and came in an old-style long box sleeve. I'm slowly replacing all of my VHS as they get released on DVD.
