Finally !!! My SVT & Ric set-up.....

I finally recieved my second SVT cab...And want to show off the set-up...
I have a few SVT cabs...but my goal was to get a second "flat-back" cab... I prefer the sound of the older flat-back cabs with the Alnico speakers, much more warmth and punch !!!!
I am having a blast right now... I just blew out another lightbulb in the kitchen... It's almost mid-night and hopefully the police won't pay me a visit for noise...

What type of gigs do you play that requires TWO 8x10's???

I have my single 2x10, and although I'd like to have more power, I really don't see the need for a massive cabinet. And my band is pretty loud, the drummer a pretty hard hitter...

I also have a smallish car, so I guess I look at an 8x10 as if it was a grand piano.

I used to play through 2 SVT 8x10 cabs. Great punch. Much too heavy for me these days;-)

I'd love to have that set-up, but it just wouldn't be practical for me. This one does what I need, and is easy to move around.

You gotta love the Rick & Ampeg sound combo!

Seeing as how I have my B2RE amp barely on through a 4x10 4 ohm cab, I wouldn't even have to turn on with 2 8x10s!!!!!

Last night I played a Novi 5th Avenue ballroom ... I took my small rig ... b2r 350 watts and 2 2x10 cabs ... then I ran an xlr out into a huge pa ... (5th ave is a big room with a high ceiling) ... so I could hear my bass amp if I stood near it ... but that pa filled the room ... 4 subs and 4 mains ... We kept a low stage volume and he cranked the PA ... the sound guy loves bands that keep the stage volume down, because then he can crank the PA and not get feedback ...

The whole point to this set-up is NOT for being LOUD.... It is for TONE... WHen this rig is at a reasonable volume level, the tone is huge and fills the room with a warmth of tone with nice punch, that a smaller set-up won't produce... I don't like the new SVT cabs.. They are particle board and the speakers sound cold, since they are manufactured to handle higher power now and therefore the voice coils sound lame...
Yes..I will probably pop a disk in my back moving these things around...But I wouldn't have it any other way
