I'm not sure for that era, but my 2003 620 MID has 11.45 kW neck and 11.02 kW bridge hi-gains.

Also, the pole pieces are spaced differently.....
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

In my 1974 Model 480, the high gain at the neck was around 11 KOhms while the high gain at the bridge was around 5 KOhms. I had the latter rewound to 13!
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I've never measured the ohms on my '84 higains, but I can tell you that the polepieces are taller on the bridge pickup.

That's some big variations between different pups of the same ilk! How did the rewind work out on your '5kohm' bridge pup, Peter?

BTW - I wasn't asking specific to this era, just had a brainfade about the right place to post this question.

I just went about the task of putting my horribly re-wired 1978 450/12 back to the factory schematic. My neck pup read 14.1k and the bridge pickup came in at 6.6k. Like every Rickenbacker I've owned the neck setting is louder but I expected a much bigger difference given the huge variation between the pickups.
