Lonnie, I'm not waiting on one. If they're taking too long, that sucks.

I'd just like to point out how much I HATE IT when someone new to the forum posts a topic asking a legit question, and all the veteran members ignore it. I see it all the time and would like to say sorry for it.

Aww. That's what bothers me about Rickenbackers. They're not there when you want one.

I hope you get it soon. 5/05/06 isn't that far away.

Lonnie and Nate, I don't mean to stir the soup, but the question seems to be with Musicians' Friend rather than Rickenbacker.

I would recommend going to the RIC website, and see which dealers have recently received a 4003 in JG, that's a pretty popular model....that way, it may be possible to shorten the wait.

I'm with John. Go to their website and you can definitley find yourself one that has just left the factory. A 4003JG is very common.

7 months seems crazy for a JG, or any 4003 for that matter. I'm just surprised that MF advertises them like they actually have them. They have that right of course, but I doubt there's anything in that catalog with a wait time of more than a week or two. Right in that Ric section, there should be a disclaimer stating you may need to wait several months for your item, and that a purchase only means you're placing an order with the manufacturer. Nowhere in the copy does it state anything like that. I doubt when you're ordering an Ovation acoustic or a tambourine, you're getting on a long waiting list. They should say that in big letters with the Rics.

i've been told it takes ric 6-9 months from the ordered date to ship them and i can wait. but when m.f. posts a "due date" and then changes it to the next month and then the next and then the next, well i should'nt get my hopes up. as i've said before, it will be worth the wait i'm sure.

Yeah but I figured the friends would say something like out of stock or something. And give a reasonable due date instead of changing it allt he time Image

Ok, I get it. The problem is Musicians friend, not RIC. But I noticed nobody else said anything about the newbies being ignored. Oh well...

Fran, if you know their will be a wait for a RIC 4003 then why do you need a disclainer? Must of us on this board know that their is a backlog. Not trying to stir the pot, but just wondering.

Nate, that might be a... i don't know how to put it better... delicate subject. As i see it, we're all being kind of ignored from time to time, no matter when we were registered and what kind of questions we ask/subjects we raise. But it's just my opinion...

Sheena, I know what you mean. I occasionally get ignored when I put my 2 cents into a conversation that doesn't involve me. But it bothers me more when it happens to the newbies. I know and like the people on this forum because I get how they act on here. But the newbies don't know the sense of humor or all of the info, and when someone with 125 or less posts asks a legit question people sometimes ignore them. I think it reflects badly on us because they don't know us as well. It's kind of 'Your the new kid? **** off!" kind of thing.

Such as these in the bass section.

The 'wait times' issue can be a delicate one in itself, and it mainly stemmed from the C-Series wait times which stretched out for years....there were many who couldn't accept the truth when the facts were presented, however they are all in production now and in stores. Most people who understand all of this are just tired of talking about it, and the Forum is simply not the place to be discussing issues between RIC and their dealers, or RIC and specific customer issues.

As for the questions posted by newbies, it could be a simple case of noone having a good answer and the post fell off the page so nobody could see it....I think we all get ignored from time to time, LOL....I've got almost 2000 posts and it's taken me around six years to do that!

I see it, Nate... i guess you're right, it's like, "i'll wait until somebody else says something", and it sometimes occurs to me that i act the same way - i wait until somebody else says "welcome" or something. The reason? To be true, i'm thinking: "i guess i should say welcome..." but then i'm afraid somebody might think, "ah, she's useless as always, but she has to say something" - believe it or not, sometimes i'm afraid to sound silly...Image I must add i'm speaking for myself - only and alone...
On the other hand, i don't think it's the "trademark" of this forum... i'd suggest it happens in many web communities. And i've come across web communities where the first posts by new members lead to a fight, post deletion and sometimes even the new member being banned... just for asking a question which was asked previously or incorrect tags in the post...
