If anyone has a yahoo ID.. check out the R30 overture video.. it kicks ***! Ged's bass doesn't sound all that bad.

O.K. I am way late on this thread, however I just got it. I like it a lot.

Did anyone here find the "hidden" tracks yet?

Does anyone besides me think that the sound of the concert is way too boomy/ muddy?

Not sure about boomy.. maybe muddy. I'm glad the bass doesn't have that blistering annoying high end like it did on "Rush in Rio". I'm just generally bothered by the entire effort. The Tom Sawyer synth mistake during 'Roll the Bones'.. it sounds cool, but it's an obvious mistake. The drum solo was wimpy compared to RIR. I like the medley.. 'Working Man' is nuts during the solo section. Alex goes nuts and Geddy looks like he's trying to slap the hell out of that Fender.

The rearrangement of 'Animate' bugged me. I liked that song, it was nice long. 'Between the Wheels' was great. I love the pirates thing in 2112... "We are the pirates of the temples of Syrinx! All the gifts of life.. are down below! Avast maties!" Classic Rush.

'Red Barchetta' was great. He struggled with some of the higher part, but I need to learn to sing it that way. The high parts are rough. The bass sound was good, but that song is nothing without the 4001. Loved the solo at then end though.

'Earthshine' was amazing. The lack of those annoying triggered harmonies were great. But they did fake the 'oooooooooohh ooohhh' section in the middle of the song again.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm just happy to have another Rush DVD to enjoy. We tend to put these guys on pedestals, they DO make mistakes sometimes! I'm glad they don't go back and fix them, they have become comfortable enough to leave them in now.

Ditto Steve, I loved it. I really am enjoying the "vault" stuff.

You all may not believe this, but I really like seeing the 4080/12 in action.

Also La Villa from the vault, just after Circumstances. The bass sound. Eeeek!!! I love the Rick sound just after the solo when the bass comes back in. Trebly, but oh God what a tone. The Jazz just doesn't cut it I'm afraid.
I for one will NEVER tire of hearing the Rick sound. I don't know why Ged changed to the Jazz. I've heard loads of different explanations.
I've finally dialed in my Rick tone. Punchy as f**k with loads of growl as I move from fret to fret. I can't get enough of it. Luscious!!!!!
What d'ya mean... the bass is TOO loud!

I want a real amp to dial in my tone. But I also want a Geddy jazz, so I'll need to write down the numbers for the settings.. lol.

Hey, Steve... http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002312690
I NEED THAT! I've only seen each of them once.. I have a version of ESL and A show of hands with the audio from the video and the CD mixed.. and I have a version of the audio from Grace Under Pressure (I call it Live Under Pressure).. great shows. I just want to see the boys with their vintage instruments and hair. Image

I have ESL on a DVD already, I burned one off of the video tape a long time ago. But I'm sure the quality of this new one will make me throw mine in the trash bin.
