Would still like to get some comments on the mod needed to put in Bartolini's from Greg.

I did not actully do the work. I had it done by David King. He might be willing to give some insight on it. [email protected]
Basically, he routed out for the new pickups, and installed them. I also had him install a new brass nut. He lowered the action a tiny bit as well.

Paul, that would he very tempting. I don't normally like blue guitars, but the RIC trans blue and blueburst finishes look amazing to me. Ever since I saw Erik Kutzlers (Blueflamerick) trans blue Cii, it was the exception.
Erik's Cii, the picture does not do justice to the beauty of this bass:

Sorry the image looks grainy. Having trouble constraining the pic to 36 KB.

Oh, on the 4-2-5 I mean. Those other ones on the red bass look like Dark Stars or something. Looks like they have a "RIC" stenciled on them!

I'm curious as hell as to what they will look like when they are for sale new again.

Paul, those are large compared to the RIC pickups. I can see why it would take you a bit of time to get used to them. I hope they sound good and keep the Rick bass character in the sound.
I'm just going to patiently wait for the redesigned Cii5 pickup, especially since I can use the trans red one at a gig. I get many compliments on it.
That trans blue is looking sweet.

The shop that made these did engrave RIC on them and they are completely custom. I've been told that it may not be possible to use the same cavity on the bass with a redesigned pickup since it would likely have to be larger (but not as big as the ones I just bought).
