Now that this auction is over and the Emporor left positive feedback, I'll let you know what it was he bought. It was a pickguard from off a Rickenfaker. He thinks it's real! For one, it has silver foil on the back of it where the pot/selector switch holes go for shielding. I don't think Rickenbacker does this on their pickguards.

Well, i'm sure you know how to react to this kind of messages... but to get serious for a moment, the guy may re-sell it as original to an innocent buyer...

Rickenbacker Style Pickguard. Since he was quick to bid, and he bid again when someone else bid made me think that he thinks it's real. The thing that gives it away as a fake is the shielding for the control cavity on the back.

Hmmm... to me, this definitely sounds like "it's not the real thing", but... anyway, i'm not sure he thinks it's real, but that doesn't mean he would never try to sell it as real...

Hmmm...no matter who was bidding on it, I would have put that I thought that it might be aftermarket.
