I saw the Plimsouls open for Tom Petty in LA in '83 (the last night of the Long After Dark World Tour.) Nick Lowe was supposed to be the opener so it would have been a win-win situation. Unfortunately I have never seen Nick live though.

Got to resurrect the Plimsouls back to the top here. I would've started a new thread, but this one seems appropriate background for an addition now.

I just saw The Plimsouls in Nashville this past Friday night (6/16/06). In the next couple days I'll add a lot of pics to my Webshots site. Numerous shots of Peter Case with his recovered 360/12 OS (or WB - whatever it's called).

And yeah, they sounded fantastic.

Great shots, Steve. I had to find 2 spare hours to go through them! Thanks very much. Image

Steve, who were the other musicians playing that night with Peter? The guy with the Strat looks kind of like Eddie Munoz, but I am not 100% sure of that. Great pictures! Peter's Rickenbacker 360-12 has aged well.

I think it's Eddie Munoz. That's what I thought when I saw the pics. Is that David Pahoa on guitar? That doesn't look like Lou Ramierz on drums. Didn't Clem Burke from Blondie play with them last time they toured?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, that's Eddie Munoz on the Strat and Tele and David Pahoa on bass. The drummer's name is Bryan Head. Clem Burke did play on their Kool Trash album (1998) and I'm pretty sure he toured with them too, but Blondie is back together again and I saw Clem with them on some TV show a while back.

Last Thursday, I attended a Paul Collins' Beat gig in Sevilla, Spain... what a bunch of great songs & fun. The bassist had just bought a 70s jetglo 4001 in Sweden (maybe from a forumite member here?), he was starting to using it. They're flying tomorrow to USA, they have some gig dates at the other side of the Atlantic.

But anyway, I remembered about this thread, because they had for sale "The Nerves 25th anniversary" vinyl. And it has a couple of pictures featuring Jack Lee and Peter Case with Rickenbacker guitar and bass (it was a red wine 4005, wasn't it?). I got one vinyl signed by Paul Collins. Really nice:

I love the Plimsouls! :D I found a used copy of "Everywhere at Once" awhile back at a local music store and was pretty happy to find it.

The Viper Room, which used to be the Central(where the Plimsouls made their Valley Girl appearance)isn't a bad club at all. I'm no celebrity, and I've been there a couple of times. It's just a nice Hollywood Club. It's a bit pricey, I'm sure, but a nice place to go on occasion. The first time I went was to see Nick Heyward, but that's another story.
