NO NO NO - I need to clarify this before I get in trouble* - I did not hand-deliver it - it was shipped via the normal means. I don't hand-deliver product, ever. I said hello to the whole staff while I was there, so they must have thought I was doing a sales call and dropping off the acoustic.**

I knew it was there, and went to check it out for myself. I was considering buying it, as I need another acoustic for live work.***

While I felt it was a superb!!! example, I made a split-second decision to pass on it. Don't know why. Maybe because it's a dreadnaught, and I like jumbos, auditoriums, concerts, etc. better? Not to mention that I have two Ric 12 strings that are newish to me, and I felt like a third would be overkill.

Anyway, glad it went to one of y'all. It's a good un'.

* John just came and asked me about this as I was typing this reply! Thanks guys!

** I do try to get out and meet dealers when I can, especially when in a new city.

*** As evidenced by my acoustic gig last Friday, where I busted two strings on my one acoustic!

Whoops! I'm REALLY sorry Kenny, I hope I didn't say anything that could cause you any trouble.

The fact is I never saw Kenny so I don't know personally how the guitar was dropped off.

All I know is what the retailer said, and I now imagine the employee at said nameless retailer was what we call "puffing" by talking about knowing or talking to Kenny.

That being said, I think the employee's version is certainly the most romantic and exciting story. But it's not one that would be worth getting anyone in trouble over.

That ALSO being said... THANKS a million Kenny for NOT buying that guitar yourself. It's lovely and it's a keeper. I'm going to be writing some songs this weekend.

I feel some folkiness coming on this weekend (as opposed to rock). I think I'll play and record on the new RIC 12 along with my mandolin, autoharp and violins.

Gettin' excited just thinking about it.

Sounds awesome, Brad.... We (or at least I) would love to hear some sound clips, too! Image
