How about some French?..
How about some French?..
A little French weekend puzzle for you, here's the link for a short clip of an instrumental composition recorded in 1969.
The original was written & recorded by famous (or should we say infamous?) French actor/director/songwriter/performer in 1969. Can you identify the author/performer & the title of the original composition / the performer & the title of the cover? Can you say why i think the cover was renamed a bit oddly?
Cheers,
SC.

Yes, right, but i'd rather translate it as "I love you - Me neither", imho it's closer to what was meant, taking the whole lyric into account, and bearing in mind "plus" means "more", while "non plus", IIRC, is used in constructions of the following kind: "Je ne le comprends pas (I don't understand it) - Moi non plus (Me neither)"...
But the other question remains: who did the cover and what was the title? And why does it seem a bit odd?

The Grateful Dead?

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Cool versions, but nope... i don't think it sounds like Grateful Dead, and as far as the Pistols are concerned... not to mention it doesn't sound like them, the band was founded in 1975 IIRC, and therefore, they couldn't have cut the record in 1969... methinks... and to be true, i do not remember them cutting a cover of this one... That's a kind of a direct reference to the quality of the sound

One of my female French students burned me an entire CD of Serge's solo stuff and I found myself chucking it out the car window. Gosh, what boring, self-involved junque...
It was a pleasure to replace him with a real singer like Charles Trenet.

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

Could be, could be, albeit i disagree... pleasure is in the ears of the listener, imho...
Another hint for a band in question: the name consists of two words, first one is the verb, second one is adverb/adjective...
