High mileage, low maintenance.

This is almost like celebrating another birthday.

On the occasion of my last birthday, I was telling Tom Matano, who's been my friend and boss on and off for about 20 years, and who is almost exactly one year older than me, that it seemed like I fell asleep at 37 and woke up at 57.

Those 20 years just vanished into the gaping Black Hole of Time.

Now I have another way of measuring time's passing--Forum post counts.

At this rate, right around my birthday next September 29th, I'll hit post number 10,000 and my odometer will reset or something. Then, I promise myself, I'll upgrade to a new G5 and retire this old G3!!!

Gary, hope it wouldn't sound like the manifestation of "dedovshchina", but... after almost 2,5 years of hanging around here, my "milestones" don't mean that much to me... looks like i've passed #2000 somewhere a coupla weeks ago, but didn't notice that...Image

With all the useful and insightful things you have said here, you should be able to compile them into a whole book of Curmudgeonly wisdom, LOL! Image

When I saw the topic I thought the Curmudge had happened upon an obscure Rick from the dark ages - how wrong can you be? Image

Heartiest congrats, Paul. This place just wouldn't be the same without you. Your beautiful refins and humorous observations continue to amaze and tickle me - in that order, of course! Image

One finger. Left forefinger. I'm lefty and play guitar righty...

Anyway, my left forefinger is 1/2" (13mm) shorter than my right.

Another fine example of what this forum is all about.

Thanks Paul.
