Dave: That is an interesting question. The Redneck's cert says it is one of 125. The numbers discussed on the forum about 2 years ago were quite different. I don't know if they are right but it was said that there were only 38 Rednecks made and 11 were 8 stringers. We accepted those numbers as fact until this Redneck surfaced. Is the cert accurate? Did they actually complete the production run of 125? There are only a few people who know for sure. Blackstars appear on Ebay a few times a year so I would say they would not be as valuable as the Redneck. Of course there are 1000 Squires out there that sell for between $3800 and $5000 these days.

"Resistance is futile..... Brian....Image"

I'm not resisting.....my "blackened" need has been satisfied. If I got a Blackstar now it would likely be for collection purposes and that isn't my thing. The only Blackstar I have played is Ted's and it sounded fantastic and played like a dream.

I'll just have to make do with my ripoff on the theme (#1 of 1 BTW)......

Well I've been looking for a BS for over a year now. Not sure what I'm going to do here because I exculsively play my 4004Cii's anymore.

Brian - I almost did what you did. I had a 4004 Cii JG on hold and if I pulled the trigger that's exactly what I was going to do. I still might do that soem day. Then it will be #2 of 2. I'm OK with that...

In the mean time I've got this:

There's a week to think about this...

My 5-string 'quasi-Blackstar' seems the same, it's pretty darn loud.

Under 6 days to go....

Still high bid...

I hope people like Appletree Antiques and the Emperor realize that the average guy deserves a change once in a while for great stuff like this..
