Actually we carry them around in a Ford F350 Super Duty 12 passenger van. Much more room. :-)

I love Lightshows! I hope they don't sell for $13,000 - $17,000 in a couple of years when I go looking for one. If so, I will need one custom made. Paul?

I'm fairly certain they won't be $13k-17K in a couple years...

Somebody help me locate that $&*@@$ plastic. The rest is only a matter of time and money...

How would you do it? I assume you'd take the top off a 330? The 331 top is flat...

Benjamin, I used your thought process back in 1970, when the Lightshow came out. As I recall, the list price was $559. I figured if I waited a while I could pick up a used one cheap. So far my plan has not worked so well. I used the same sound strategy on a $600, 59 flame top, Les Paul I passed on. That did not work out so good either.

I gotta lay down for a while, are chest pains bad?
I'm just happy to be here.

John, it goes beyond "taking the top off a 330". But you're on the right track!

I'm jumping on board to see if Paul or anyone finds the swirly plastic stuff. Let me know if you do.

"I'm jumping on board to see if Paul or anyone finds the swirly plastic stuff. "

I've 'kinda' found it. The 'kinda' is related to the supply and price. Its around $900-$1100 for enough for a top/bottom set...

Uh huh. Somebody making the stuff on the planet Krypton, out of the element Unobtanium?

That is out-and-out price gouging, my friend. Whoever is at the base of that pyramid is one bad bichero, IMO.

There is no plastic on this planet Earth that needs to sell for more than a few bucks a pound. There is no more than four ounces of plastic in those swirly bits.

Sometimes this whole profit thing Bites the Big One.

But Paul, if the plastic is found for a pittance, aren't you afraid of being over run with "please convert my 330 to a light show" orders??!!??!

For some reason I don't think that would bother him, Jerry! Image
