Byrds on Stage. But When?

Post by admin »

Please identify the venue and the year. If you were there, please tell us all about it.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Peter,

That's The Byrds' famous Ed Sullivan Show TV appearance, Sunday, December 12, 1965, when they performed "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!"

Video of this is available from a variety of sources.

I have this poster too!

Also, what Byrd videos do you recommend?

I know there is the one hour video anthology ('65-69) out there, and I think there is a two-hour documentary as well. What do y'all recommend for the utmost viewing pleasure?

Also, why didn't they include any footage of the Byrds on the Monterey Pop documentary? I mean, jeez, Momma Cass even shook her sass, yet lo, no Byrds!

There is footage from Monterey that I've seen as part of mtv/vh1 documentaries, I'm not sure but these clips may be included with the recent video release (Rhyno)-- I'm not sure if these are complete songs or just parts.
Still interesting since the "official" word was that the cameras were out of film!
But as the recent re-issue discoveries have shown--who knows "What's Happenening!?!?!?"
