Valvetech Amp - Hayseed 30

Post by skeeterbuck »

Anybody here have or a Hayseed 30 amp made by Valvetech Amps? It's a clone of the Vox AC30, handwired (tagboard) and comes standard with Heyboer transformers. I would describe it as a combination of the 4 input model with the EF86 preamp tube and the 6 input Top Boost model. The amps are built by Rob Pierce and can be ordered with many options like speaker type and size, different transformers, cabinet coverings etc.

There are several threads on the Gear Page Forum. Some of them include sound clips that compare it to the new Vox AC30 CC. I have also heard that there has been talk about them on the Vox Talks Forum, but I have not checked them out.

Peter, That's a good review! That's one I've not seen before. I think the reviewer's comments were very fair. They compared to most other comments I read on this amp.

It's was unfortunate that the amp he had to review didn't contain the EF86 preamp tube option. Most all comments in reference to the channel that has this tube, is that it gives a whole new dimension to the amp's tonal pallet, In a good way!

I currently have one on order. From what Rob has indicated, it should be arriving very soon.

I would be interested in a full report Sketter, once you have been able to put it through its paces.

Here's an interesting read. There is a link to Valvetech also.
