"The Silent Wings of Freedom"
Some obviously tense moments in the studio. Very cool.

Give the vid a moment, it takes a little while to load. Worth it though, if your a Squire fan.

I wouldn't know it was from any DVD or what...
Interesting "yeah, I enjoy playing it".
All in all Tormato is a forgettable album IMO, but this tune, "Don't Kill The Whale", and I suppose "Onward" are decent. IIRC "Arriving UFO" should have left...

Above e-mail is inactive. try ed_ardzinski@**** where **** is Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com. I tend to see things inthe hotmail box quicker...
Yeah, there was great bass playing on that album...again, as I recall. Been a VERY long time since I listened to it. But looking at the song list I have to say it was a weak effort in general.
I think we're agreeing, right?

"Ughhhf. Yet more DVD rips... Youtube will be shut down unless these idiots stop uploading copyrighted stuff! "
I don't know how they are allowed to keep this stuff on the server as well. I remember when (back in the day) AOL had to remove all the photo groups offline because people were uploading band logos and album cover art. You can find almost anything on YouTube. Sure the quality is trash, but most of the time someone owns that copyright. I don't think it will be around, at least in it's current form too much longer.

Ah, “Tormato” . . . so much possibility, and so little to show for it . . . the songs are good, but the album that they make together is just so . . . disappointing.
Personally, "Don't Kill the Whale" should've had completely different lyrics, because the song itself is great, but the lyrics are beyond silly. "Arriving UFO” was good, but should’ve sounded less thin; it felt like there wasn’t any bottom to the song, like it was just treble the whole way. “Circus of Heaven” . . . yeah, that song has to be the worst song Yes ever did. The rest of the album is actually quite good, and “Onward” is actually one of my favorite Yes songs. But altogether, it’s just lackluster. It’s like they didn’t really know what they were doing when they were writing the album . . .

Yeah, a little bit of tension there. It had to be hard to construct that music though. When I think of all the stuff that went into just THAT song, let alone the whole album. Very telling that Alan mentioned the "magical bits" that were lost after repeated takes. I think I understand that concept! Just not on such a grand scale. With that many hot players in the same room, the friction has to get intense at times.

He also overused the Colorsound Dipthonizer on "Tormato".

He has a great bass tone on "Release, Release" (Thunderbird), pity about the song...
