Best songs to hear McCartney's Rick in action?
In last month's Bass Player mag, it had the music for "Something", talking about Paul's use of his 4001S on that song, and also had a good picture of him with it (in Maple Glo form).
I have to say that I didn't even realize that he played a Rick before I got into this forum, and I never really appreciated his bass playing. I have listened to this song alot in the past few weeks and the bass line is great.
I wondered if you Paul-lovers could give me some pointers to some of the best examples of his Rick playing on other Beatles tunes?
Thanks

I'd say Wings Over America. Big bass all over, and it's even better when Paul doesn't sing. No, I love his voice, he just get more creative when he doesn't have to sing. Like "Time to Hide" or "Spirits of Ancient Egypt". Boomin Rick bass all over the album.
