Well, I recieved my Ric-O-Sound splitter box with cables today... Took out my 1975 Fireglo 4001 and plugged it in... The neck toaster pup went to one old SVT amp connected to a V4B 2x15" cab and the treble pup went to another old SVT head with two 8x10" cabs... I tweaked out and set-up both heads and they are banging really hard with KT88 valves..All I have to say is I am in Ric-O-Sound heaven

This is better than sex... The tone I achieved tonight is like the Holy Grail of tone to me

You need another V4-B cab.

Bob..I do have another Ampeg 2x15" cab...it's not a V4B but it still has the umph!!!
I Just brought 3 cabs up 2 flights of stairs from the downnstairs garage...My back is shot!!!
I need my energy to play the Ric...

Gee, I wish you hadn't written this post..... I have been just ignoring this Ric-o-sound contraption, since I don't have 2 amps and I kindof scares me! I guess I have this to look forward to. Good thing I don't have an upstairs! Or any close neighbors....!

Good news

I just tried the Ric-O-Sound with just a single SVT head... Since the head had two channels..
I put the neck pup in Channel 1 and then I put the treble pup in Channel 2 and it worked out really good..

You think you can live without Ric-o-sound, then when you try it, you realise what all the fuss is about! Epic tonal options. I wouldn't go back to mono, ever.

Their site says it is discontinued. That makes no sense! Did you guys get one from Rickenbacker or elsewhere? I am going to call them later today....

They're selling off the old stock. JH said they won't produce any more, but there should be enough around for a while yet. Don't wait too long, though. I got mine recently, but haven't really got the proper set up to give it a work out.
Plus running 2 lines to the board when playing out is a pain.
I would think it would be great for recording!

You can also find them on ebay, but old, used, over-priced, & usually missing the extra cable.
RIC or one of the authorized dealers would be the best bet.
I got mine direct from RIC.

now the next step is tri-ampimg ... split your signal 3 ways ... lows into the 18s, mids into the 15s, and highs into 10s or 12s ...

that is Entwistle's rig from the 70s ...
