Yikes... i'm sorry... i've been having regular headaches for 20 years now (maybe that's the reason why i always tend to wander off topic?Image), so i truly regret i have caused the same trouble for others. Sorry for yet another offtopic post...Image

OK, Sheena, yes, you finally DID get my drift and that particular method has proven to be very helpful.

I have suffered from migraine headaches--very debilitating ones--for over a half-century. I have tried every medication and regimen known and all the new drugs and procedures (short of lobotomy or guillotine) as they became available. Diet control was of course tried. I participated in many clinical studies. My case has been written up as part of a doctoral thesis. At one point about 15 years ago, I was actually engaged to be married to an MD/PhD lady whose specialty was brain chemistry, but she couldn't help me (and needed to sort out her own head problems, which included acquiring a sense of humor!) I settled for heavy dependence on Imitrex, a very nasty serotonin-affecting chemical cocktail that left me exhausted whenever I had to take it, which was several times a week.

Finally, last year, I found a dedicated neurosurgeon whose specialty is migraines. She surveyed my case and immediately put me on medication to lower my intercranial blood pressure (my body blood pressure is typically quite low anyway), took me completely off of caffeine, and put me on a low dose of Topamax (an anti-seizure medication, often used as a preventive measure).

I am now headache-free for six weeks, knock on wood. I can even drink wine again, which I had not been able to do for twenty years! (although I get drowsy).

People ask me where my energy comes from--it's simply that I've regained all my lost hours formerly spent nursing headaches.

Sheena--There is a remedy out there for you, and the work in finding one is worth it.

I'm about to put an Accent on my 1997 this weekend.

That is great news about the headaches, Paul.... Glad to hear you've found a cure! But going off of caffeine would GIVE me a huge headache, LOL! My sister in law suffers from horrible migraines; I'll have to share some of the info with her.

This has been an interesting thread.... Accent vibratos, lots of laughter, crazy pictures, and headaches.... Just the kind of thread drift that makes the Ric forum such a great place to visit! Image

I'm glad you've managed to find your remedy, Paul. Mine, in fact, has nothing to do with medicine - just enjoying life & all the surprises awaiting for me on my way... it works for me - better than any kind of drugsImage
Not sure about Accent vibrato, but perhaps it's also helpfulImage
