Unfortunately... after putting on my "Digital Stabilizer Optic Enhancers"... I noticed that the bass in question is, in fact not a Rickenbacker, but a Rickenfaker! An Ib***z, if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry, but no cigar!

Hey Carr...

I had enlarged the image of the Rick bass and took a good close look at the blurred truss rod cover... there were only about 6 letters in whatever name was on there... not the 12 letters in Rickenbacker... and it also looked as though the first letter was a big script style capital "I"... very similar script to what I have seen firsthand on several Ib***z Rick copies. Hence, my deducing that it was an Ib***z-made Rickenfaker.

Yeah, I have no life! :P

Clearly an Ibañez. Plus, notice the tuners and the period-incorrect location of the 'toaster' pickup. It is a fake Rick, gentlemen.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
