I found this one on the Secondhand market. Which model is this? Does it have the classic Ric sound?
Is it possible to play this lefty as a righty?
What is this one worth?
Thanks
On sort of a related note, my 4004SPG model, (Scott,Pappas,Gilbert) is supposed to arrive today on the brown truck. It was a little more than what Jared quoted, but then it is the only one of its kind in existance. Anybody else hungry for a walnut sandwich?

SWEEEET! Yea , thats what I meant. I've always been kind of a 4001/4003 guy and wouldn't even pay any attention to the other ricks without binding. My eyes have been opened and my juices are flowing (figure of speech). Hope to be plugged in by this afternoon and pumping out sound (noise?)

Philip, that is indeed a 4004 Ci. Very nice to snag if you can.
The tone is rather more bassy with a 4004...but I find with a pick the Rick clang comes out just fine on these puppys. The are very different from a 4003, however.

Philip....I would pass on getting it to use right handed. They aren't that rare that a righty couldn't be found. I'd recommend tracking one down the tone and feel are excellent!
Ted's buddy, Mr. X, has a leftie Cii Trans Red that is gorgeous. He noticed that the leftie Cheyennes had a different TRC – back-painted clear Plexi with black lettering and gold background. You can see this, too, on the Cheyenne Ci in the fuzzy photo above. "Normal" (right handed) Cheyennes (both Ci and Cii) have black-plastic TRCs with goldish plated raised lettering. Interesting.

I saw that too, Paul. Its kinda cool. I would even consider putting a gold vintage TRC on my Cheyenne, only: A) That would mean drilling another hole in the headstock, and B) I don't really pay much attention to my Cheyenne anyway.
I'm kinda envious of lefties. I've noticed that not only do they get the vintage screened TRC on all their basses, but they also get the REAL 60's headstock as seen on this lefty 2004 4003:
Meanwhile, us rightys have to have this weird mutation of a headstock that RIC started making in '97 that kinda looks like the long 60's headstock, but is the same length as the short 70's headstock(photo is of a 2004 4003FL)
I do'nt know which 4004 you played Mark.....I have a 77 4001 and a 4004 Cii they both sound great !!! The 4004 has all the muscle , it just...." Kicks *** " !!!!!!!!! The neck ? Built to fit a girls hand .
